EGCG, a catechin found in abundance in green tea extract helps to improve brain functions and Cellan Pills contains 100 percent green tea extract.

Most research in the past concentrated on beneficial impacts of green tea on weight management, cell development, oral health, and cardiovascular support. But the new body of research is considering beneficial impacts of green tea on brain health. Green tea is rich in EGCG (epigallocatechin 3-gallate), a compound that is linked to improved brain functions. Chinese researchers are leading the group and found that EGCG increases the production of neural progenitor cells in certain areas of the brain that is responsible for processing short- and long-term memory. Another research using MRI technology studied the brains of those who consumed green tea as well as those who didn’t. This research also revealed that certain portions of the brain of those who consumed green tea shown an increased memory functions.

The caffeine content of green tea is what interest most researchers. The ability to improve cognitive tasks such as learning and memory are dependent on proper growth of neurons and EGCG have been linked to promote and protect neurons that support cognitive functions.
